We've handled many cases involving birth injuries. These are injuries that occurred during the delivery of the child or sometimes even prior to the delivery of the child. These are true lifetime injuries because this child is injured from the moment the child comes into the world and for the rest of the child's lifetime. And this is an injury that often afflicts not only the child but the entire family.
We've had children who have suffered from cerebral palsy as a result of oxygen deprivation during the delivery process. We've had children who have suffered physical injuries as well as mental impairment. These families come to us. They are devastated. They are facing, oftentimes, a tremendous number of hurdles, financial hurdles, as well as other hurdles due to this child's disability, and they come in and they're pleading with us to please help them. We've been able to get substantial awards for these children and these families, and we've been able to get access to the money without having to wait until the child is 18 years old in order to obtain special equipment that these children need due to these devastating injuries.
